Chairman’s Report 17:2012
August 19, 2012Seniors
Karingal 20.22.142 v Chelsea 2.5.17
Reserves
Karingal 14.8.92 v Chelsea 10.5.65
We made the journey up the highway to play a Chelsea outfit that have been out of form over the last month, but we knew they had a lot to play for with a finals berth on the line. After watching the way our boys trained during the week we knew the boys were up for the challenge as the atmosphere on the training track was one of excitement. With finals around the corner plus the honour of being part of LVR’s Big day we were destined for a win.
LVR ran out for his 200th senior game of footy for the Karingal football club which set the mood for the day. He is now only the 4th player at the club to reach this milestone. He has been a wonderful and dedicated individual and we are just so proud of him and all of achievements to date and look forward to witnessing many more, well done Luke and well played today mate you are still going strong.
Wisha’s Warriors continued their wonderful season with win No 15, which is just awesome. The boys today went up against a Chelsea side that were playing huge numbers behind the ball, but to their credit the boys stuck to their game plan, and in the 2nd half eventually ran out 27 point winners. Just remember boys you must come to play. You only need to be 5% off your game and the opposition will be with you.
Now to Dunnys mob, well there is only one word to describe our efforts today “DELICIOUS” as Bruce would say. We played champagne footy at times and made our opposition look 2nd rate. Our ball movement was outstanding. It all started in the middle of the ground with big KB getting well on top and with his death tap work, it was pleasure to watch. The calibre of Tyques (4TACKLES) who had a terrific game, Budha (5TACKLES) who was his typical in and under, Jenks playing his best game for the year and Dixon who is finding form at the right end of the season our midfield group are working really well as a team.
Our wings, Kellerman/Bedford and young Jackson Mathews gave us plenty of run and drive but Charas run, drive and physical presence had a big influence on the game.
Our Backs again today were superb. They were capably led by our inspiring Coach, Dunney (6TACKLES) and our milestone boy LVR. Al Williams (9 PRESSURE ACTS) kept Worner quiet and with Rebounding Hoad (5PRESSURE ACTS) getting a fair bit of it and Paxton and Duncs(6PRESSURE ACTS) playing another solid game the match was in the bag. Tim Hurst, with his unselfishness, today showed this footy club why he is playing 1st footy. Knowing that he had no match up in the backline he straight away came from the field. You wouldn’t see that happen too often at many footy clubs. Inspiring stuff Timmy, selfless act mate.
Our Forwards were outstanding today kicking another 20 goal haul. Their spread and willingness to tackle and keep the ball inside 50 was terrific. But congratulations must go out to Cocky Hay who kicked a 10 goal haul which was a pleasure to watch. He is in fine form at the minute having kicked 22 goals over the past fortnight.
Today, watching Michael burkes performance was well worth the $9.00 you have to pay to come and watch this magician weave his magic. He kicked another 6 goal haul.
Dan Noble who had a great game today went unrewarded for his running, but is showing that he will be coming back to his best as we fast approach finals time kicking 1 goal and 4 points. Donka/McGarry and Cal Dixon who came thru the half forward lines looked very dangerous with their pace and pressuring acts .
On behalf of the coaches l would just like to thank our wonderful trainers Tommy, Amanda and Hutchy, who week in, week out get our boys out onto the park. Great job guys you are really appreciated.
Let’s enjoy the win boys and get back out there this week and keep working hard to achieve our goals in 2012.
