Womens Football Results 2017

After a solid week on the track the girls were after redemption after the Tyabb game and they didn’t disappoint.

With a solid start and setting the tone of the game early, Pearcedale knew they were in for a long day.

Our tackling, smothering and pressure acts were second to none for the whole day.

With heading into the first break with 1 goal, we had to hit the scoreboard and our forwards didn’t disappoint. Yas and Brooke both kicking great goals, as Ebony booted another to add to her great season.

Our backs and mids worked hard all day but the second quarter set us up with a 24 point lead at the main break.

Kiera came out and booted goal of the year from the fence, as Yas added another to her bag for the day. Lorraine and Nicky H played their best games for the year, with great tackles and locking the ball in our forward 50.

Our rucks, Milly, Mel and Courts all contributed and really set up the win for us from the middle.

The general Rylee dominated down back, clearing the ball and back to her best footy, doing what she does best.

The day belonged to the clamp. Nicole W, shutting their best player down to 5 touches after 3/4 time. No complaints, no arguing just sacrificed her own game for the team and it reflected on the scoreboard for the team.

Was a great win for the team and the club. Still so much room for development and improvement. We worked well as a team after our session during the week but we can still be handballing quicker, and more often through the middle and in front of goal.

Our biggest game of the year this week and we will be ready for the Bombers and the challenge.
