Bullettes GD Review: Semi Finals 2017

Updated: August 28, 2017

A Grade:

Today in slippery conditions we took on our arch rival Edi Asp. Just like our B grade we decided to put some focus towards a solid warmup and stick to our structures and game plan and this also proved to be vital.

We started the game extremely impressive going into the first break with an 8 goal lead. Unfortunately we could not sustain the lead and we lapsed slightly in our second quarter and Edi Asp were back in the game again. To the girls credit we rallied again like we knew we could and pushed out a very strong second half.

Sammy was outstanding in the goal circle barely missing a shot all day and Birgitta played her role to almost perfection. Jamie, Courtney jayde and Georgia were absolutely super through our mid court as we cut them to shreds with our pace and class.

Once again co captains Mardi and jayde were a stand out in the defensive ring picking off intercepts and getting a heap of defensive rebounds. Georgia has been one of our best pick ups this year as she is so calm and collected under pressure and just continues to play super exciting netball up the defensive end.

We came away with a 9 goal win. Fantastic job everyone.

This is group is hungrier than ever for this premiership and we look forward to our challenge.

B Grade:

In freezing conditions at Jubilee Park where it actually hailed at times our girls went to war with YCW. The girls put a focus to getting our warmup right followed by sticking to our structures and team plan and today it paid off.

We jumped out of the blocks and went into our first break with a very handy lead. As the game went on we grew more and more confidence extending our leads at every break.

Our goalers emily and Nadine were sensational. Our mids of Brooke, Bridget, Sarah, Peyton, Mel and Ash provided the work-rate and defensive pressure which meant Michelle and Breanna could pick off some terrific intercepts.

Today it took a real team effort to get the job done. We are super excited to see who we get to meet in the grand final and look forward to our challenge.

We came away with a 14 goal win. Great job girls.

Let’s stick together and continue to work hard.

C Grade:

In the first final it was a very slippery day at the Jubilee Park outdoor courts and not ideal with hail and rain to play high standard of netball. The girls played extremely well considering the court conditions.

Our main focus today was to get the job done and go straight through to the GF. We focused on starting of with a really good warm up based on our training session this week with Renee.

Everyone played their role and positions on the court very well. We had a very tough game with YCW keeping us in close check but fortunately enough our whole team kept it together as a team and took the win by 3 goals.

I have no doubt this group is super motivated and ready for the Grand Final. After falling short the last two years the girls have used this drive as motivation and are simply ready for the challenge which lies ahead.

I am very proud of them and I know they are ready to take out the flag.
