Netball Results 2016

A Grade:

This week our A grade was severely depleted of our normal squad. We welcomed back our co captain Jayde Aron who was carrying a niggling injury but still managed to play out the four quarters. This shows just what a tough and determined player she is to get the job done. Renee B also a standout in the defensive end this week pulling in many intercepts. Bridgette took full control of the centre court playing her second game for the day.
Best on court was Birgitta in our goaling end assisted by Emily. They make a great combo. We had a solid start to the game which we built on every quarter to extend the lead. We managed to break Mornington’s confidence and we stepped up another gear to get the job done. Although our A grade was depleted we had a number of B graders step up and help out and it was great to see positive attitudes out there.
Our A and B squads have their eyes on the prize and I feel with their positive attitudes to help each other both squads will go really far. Well done A grade.

B Grade:

Thursday night we played our first home game over at Jubilee Park against Mornington where the conditions were cold and the lighting wasn’t the best. In saying that the level of netball was still extremely high. The first ten minutes Mornington jumped us with a 7-0 lead. We were very untidy and we fumbled balls and turned the ball over constantly.
It was like a flick of the light switch came 10 minutes in and we managed to fight our way to be only one goal down at the first change. As the game progressed everyone started to step up and play the netball that I know they can. This was lead by captain Emily who was best on court for the day. Our defensive end started to shut their tall goalers down and this was assisted with our mid court defensive pressure. Mel C really stepped up and managed to get tips and intercepts in the defensive half and she has an awesome ability to read the play.
Everyone did their job and played their role and as the game went on we became more confident. It’s a credit to our character for our team to turn around and win by 21 goals after our dreadful start. Well done B grade.

C Grade:

Well what can I say but that the whole team played like Grand Final winners! Taylah and Kiah dominated thru the centre for the whole game. Whilst Alison coming up from D Grade to fill in was a huge asset picking up balls and intercepting all over the court.

Our goalies alternated thru the game with Dani and Steph welcoming in our new goaler Isabelle showing her the ropes. Sarah and Mel owned the goal ring defending like stars applying the pressure!

Great win by us. Keep playing like this girls and we will have a great season! Go Bulletts

D Grade:

We started well with our defenders Bec and Gabby keeping them at bay. It was a tight game coming into the 2nd half about even.
3rd Qtr seemed to be our undoing as we started making passing errors and turning over the ball and the Mornington goalies hardly missed a goal resulting us loosing this qtr by 10 goals.
We pegged it back in the last qtr with Briony and Nicole stepping up to the challenge but unfortunately Mornington came out on top – proving to have a good team this year!
